Therefore, the European Federation of Corrosion not only cooperates intensively with its European and International Member Societies and but with a number of organisations and associations within and outside of Europe.

An historic agreement on cooperation between EFC and
NACE International
was signed by both parties during the NACE Corrosion Conference in San

World Corrosion Organisation (WCO)
Prof. Michael Schuetze, Institute Director of Materials at Karl-Winnacker-Institut of DECHEMA, Frankfurt am Main, Germany, and the current President of the EFC was elected President of the World Corrosion Organization (WCO) at its first official meeting in Nashville/TN in March 2007 .
The WCO, which is based in New York and aspires to be recognized as an organization of the United Nations, has set itself ambitious goals:
to promote the dissemination and application of knowledge in the field of corrosion protection for the socio-economic benefit of society, the preservation of resources and the protection of the environment.
The WCO is currently represented through international and national non-for-profit organisation of around 40 different countries in America, Asia, Australia and Europe involved in dissemination of corrosion information, corrosion research, education, mitigation, and/or materials selection.
The European Federation of Corrosion is a among the four founder member of the WCO.
