WP8 - Corrosion Testing Methods and Data Management launches its topical event series with "the Power of the Pixel in Corrosion Science". Santiago Garcia Espallargas (TU Delft, the Netherlands) and Viacheslav (Slava) Shkirskiy (Université Paris Cité, France) will discuss perspectives on advancing the optics integration into corrosion research.

Scope: The Symposium on Corrosion and Protection Methods provides a specialized forum for the dissemination and discussion of research related to material degradation processes and strategies aimed at their mitigation. The electrochemical and physicochemical fundamentals of corrosion phenomena are addressed, as well as the environmental and service-related factors that influence the deterioration of metals, alloys, and composite materials.

Scope:  A series of online 101 tutorials focused on corrosion-related experimental/in silico methods and phenomena. 
Target audience is PhD and ECRs, who want to have more fully rounded basic knowledge, along with other newcomers to the areas.

The event starts with inspiration talk by industrial leader in the field: Dr. Patrick Keil (BASF coatings). During one week, you will have the chance to learn and practice (lab experiences) about hot topics like: Different types of multifunctional coatings; Smart coatings for corrosion protection; Electrochemical methods for coatings evaluation; Localized electrochemical techniques; High-throughput robotized techniques; Machine learning in corrosion; Atomistic and continuum modelling of interfacial processes. A poster session will be organized to showcase your work alongside networking events and interactions with other participants.

The Carlow Training Course is designed as an intensive two-day technical workshop focusing on Marine Corrosion and Microbiologically Influenced Corrosion (MIC) and related corrosion management strategies. This program brings together participants with both theoretical foundations and practical insights into corrosion processes, assessment methods and integration of microbiological data for informed decision-making.
