New Task Force on Corrosion and Corrosion Protection of Additive Manufactured Metals

Welcome to the website of the new Task Force on Corrosion and Corrosion Protection of Additive Manufactured Metals.

Introduction and current activities

EUROCORR 2025 sessions

As Additive Manufactured metals have unique, often non described and out of equilibrium microstructures, the properties of the AM metals are totally different than those of conventionally produced metals even if the feedstock alloy is exactly the same in composition. This implies that these properties need to be closely studied and that surface treatments need to be adapted.

AM is being used and/or considered in many industrial fields of applications, including biomedical, marine, aerospace, automotive, heat exchangers, energy storage, oil and gas… and many properties need to be assured. In this session we welcome all contributions dealing with surface properties, with the main ones of course being corrosion, the underlying mechanisms and surface or other processing treatments for the creation of enhanced properties on additive manufactured metals.

Contributions looking into the fundamentals but also related to the applications in all industrial sectors are very welcome!

Joint Session

The presentations dedicated to biomedical applications can also be submitted in the dedicated joint session on “AM for biomedical applications that is closely related to the New Task Force on metal AM.

The call for papers will open on 15 October 2024.
Please submit your abstract online via www.eurocorr.org before 17th of January 2025.

We are looking forward to your contribution and participation in EUROCORR 2025 on 7-11 September 2025 in Stavanger, Norway!
